Noddy And His Friends - The Best in Children's Stories |
For most people on the U.S. side of the pig pond, the name of Noddy signifies probably nothing, however for a great many adults of a certain age in the UK, it was a pivotal kid's television and book series. Having it's launch on UK TV in nineteen fify four and running in that same basic format into the nineteen seventies, it was a hot favorite for children between 3 and 10 years of age. It has to be said that young children nowadays have a bigger and more complex comprehension of things around them, but the concepts enshrined in this old methods have stuck, it appears. Originally created as a children's story book written by Enid Blyton, the latest creation in a long line, 'Make Way For Noddy' is produced in 3D format and is currently being broadcast in more than one hundred countries around the globe. |

The story is inevitably mixed with lots of joy and fun centered on the Noddy characters, and the unspoken motives are unvariably very wholesome, which is very desirable for our children. The stories are not negative, or despondent. Anything is possible when you have a good spirit - this is the main theme. However, even in the Noddy series, there are characters who are a little on the gray, such as the devious goblins Sly and Gobbo -wonderful names for naughty goblins. But rest assured, we're in Toytown - nothing very nad can happen here. Noddy has nice friends, such as the Tubby Bears (where have we heard that before?), Big Ears and Mr Plod the policeman. The perfectly named Big Ears brought Noddy to Toytown when Noddy ran away from his creator - the man who constructed him - he is made of wood, of course. First of all, the Toys wern't ceratin if Noddy could live with them or not, as they wondered if he was more of an ornamental figure than a real toy. There was a kind of a trial and, and when he unravelled a little mystery in Toytown, they decided to let him stay. His good friend Big Ears built him a house and he settled in, solving little mysteries along the way. How does he make ends meet? Well, toys don't really need money, they exchange things and carry out little services for each other. Noddy wears a hat with a bell on the top which rings when his head nods - that's how he got the name! He would let other toys nod his head back and forth so teh bekk would ring, and then they would give him gifts of the items a wooden boy in Toytown would need. After a while, he got to travel about in a little red, yellow and blue clockwork car to see his friends and neighbours, take Big Ears on visits and also use it to solve his mysteries. Peace in Toytown was ensured by Mr Plod, the town's policeman, and all the other Noddy characters became cherished favorites for three of growing children.
